FAQ -

  • Where do I sleep if I choose the day camper option?

The day camp option was designed for local participants and/or student-athletes whose family want to come enjoy a vacation to San Luis Obispo as well. Some day campers will attend camp from 8am-4pm and then return home for dinner while others will enjoy the rest of the evening with their family and join them in the hotel/AirBNB overnight.

  • Which dorms will campers stay in?

Overnight campers will stay in our Poly Canyon Village dorms. The dorms are apartment style with 4 single bedrooms conjoined by a living space that includes a full kitchen and 2 shared bathrooms. Participants will need to bring their own towels and bedding.

  • Who will the counselors be?

Current collegiate student-athletes and coaches will serve as the counselors for camp. We will maintain a minimum camper:counselor ratio of 10:1 and aim to have equal amounts of male and female counselors.

  • How many spots are available?

We anticipate allowing a total of 120 high school student-athletes to attend Central Coast Running Camp. We’ll attempt to keep the Overnight:Day camper ratio about 2:1, meaning there are roughly 80 spots for overnight and 40 for day.

  • How much will I be running?

On our registration form, you’ll be asked for your weekly mileage during the week of camp. We‘ll use this info to organize the camp into groups of similar ability levels and have several options for how many miles any given run will be. You’ll also have counselors assigned to you throughout camp that will be able to give you guidance on this.

  • Will I be able to walk around campus?

Most of our runs will be around campus and the surrounding trails. Campers will be able to see all parts of campus through the running they do. Outside of that, we will have some designated times to go to the bookstore or other specified areas. However, we will not allow campers free time to explore campus unsupervised.
